The Weston United Methodist Church -WUMC- is located at 377 North Avenue in Weston, Massachusetts. A Methodist congregation has worshipped on or near the current church property for more than 200 years. Although located in Weston, the church congregation is drawn from Weston and the surrounding towns of Lincoln, Waltham, Wayland and Sudbury as well as a number of other towns in the region. Members range in age from new born to nonagenarian, with a number of multi-generational families. Worship services are at 10:30 each Sunday, with monthly Sunday afternoon Healing Services. During July and August, worship shifts to 9:30. Childrens Sunday School and Nursery care is offered every Sunday, with A Time for Children included during the first part of the service, after which time the children are escorted to class.
Music is an integral part of worship. Special music during each worship service is provided by the Chancel Choir, made up of both professional and volunteer singers. We seek to make everyone feel welcome. Visitors are welcomed at the door, and have the opportunity to meet the pastor. There are many small group opportunities that encourage participation in the life of the church, including Bible study; serving a monthly meal at a local soup kitchen as well as a Prayer Shawl Ministry.
